Diego Quiros at the Poetry Buffet, April 23

Diego Quiros will read selections of his most recent work at the Poetry Buffet, April 23, 7-9 pm, at the CrepeMaker Café, 76 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables.

An electrical engineer, artist, and photographer, Diego Quiros is a Cuban-American writer whose poems are composed with attention to sensual detail and texture.  Alchetry explores the correlation of the four elements of writing to the four basic natural elements of the alchemists by way of poetry.

Diego’s artwork has been featured on public television, Miami New Times, Google Earth, Schmap Miami Eleventh Edition, a recent photography show, “Solitude” at Books & Books, with paintings at the Water Tower Gallery, in Coral Gables. Attendees will have the pleasure of not only hearing Diego read, but enjoy exploring his art as well.

Seating is limited, as it is a cozy venue, so RSVP is a must.  Please RSVP by with Doreen at dclocicero@gmail.com and include your phone number. You do not need to be a poet to attend,  just a writing enthusiast!

Enjoy sharing crepes, wine and verse. Laptops are welcome – there’s WIFI.

Bring an Emily Dickenson poem or any other poetry for the round robin readings, and then Cara Nusinov, of ReadPoemsWithMe© will conduct a poetry workshop with “poetry prompts” to inspire your creativity.

Café offers a comfy and nurturing environment for both first-time readers and pros with the opportunity to mingle with fellow poets and writers.

The admission to the Poetry Buffet includes a complimentary glass of wine to help you unwind and fixed price menu with a choice of: Small Entree & Dessert Crepe Combos $12.99/pp with a small drink  or  Regular-size Entree & Dessert Crepes $15.99/pp, with a large fountain drink or coffee/tea and chips.  If you have diet restrictions, you may substitute crepes with fresh salad and/or fruit bowl, in small or large sizes, same prices as above.

Parking is available at meters on the street (4 quarters=48 minutes) and there is a public parking garage on Galiano, right behind Navarro. Please avoid Andalusia by Ross, it’s under construction.
