Judging the “Dis-Moi Dix Mots” Contest

I’m among the judges of the “Dis-Moi Dix Mots” poetry contest launched by the Cultural Departments of the Consulate General of France and the Consulate General of Haiti, in Miami, for students in the “French Heritage Language Program” and those attending partner universities in Miami.

On Tuesday, the judges were invited to dinner at La Brochette Bistrot, in Pembroke Pines, by the Cultural Attaché of the Consulate General of France in Miami, Ms. Valerie Drake. I spent a delightful time with poet Maryse C. Elysee and her husband Pierre-Michel, Jeanne Proust who teaches French and Philosopgy at ISCHS, Valerie Jean-Louis (a dynamic intern at the Consulate), and the energetic Ms. Drake.
