ArtServe (InSIDE)/Out (and more)

I got an email from my friend Cathie today about great events taking place at ArtServe this summer.

ArtSertve is an arts incubator located in Fort Lauderdale (1350 E Sunrise Blvd). Because of its commitment to creating cultural experiences for the community, ArtServe has become a national model for other arts supporting organizations.

ArtServe is a multi-purpose facility that offers a shared office environment and venue at affordable costs to the more than 350 nonprofit cultural organizations and 10,000 artists living and working in Broward County. ArtServe encourages the growth of cultural organizations with educational and marketing programs including The Art of Doing Business workshop series, and the Broward County Commission’s Cultural Division’s Cooperative Marketing Program.

So… here’s what’s going on at ArtServe this summer:

(InSIDE)/Out

They have just opened a new exhibit called (InSIDE)/Out, Art as Healing Therapy, which runs until May 31. Local non-profit organizations participate in the (InSIDE)/Out, Art as Healing Therapy exhibit at ArtServe which explores the integration of art therapy into healing methods and celebrates the importance of art as therapy to positively shape lives.

The Featured organizations include: Ann Storck Center, Artists with Autism, Cove Center for Recovery, Dan Marino Foundation, Easter Seals, Disability Services, Henderson Behavioral Health, Inspirations for Youth and Families, Lauderdale Lakes Alzheimer’s Center, PACE Center for Girls Broward, Schott Communities, SOS Children’s Villages, Sunset School, United Cerebral Palsy of Broward County, Inc., and Whispering Pines School

ArtServe will also begin Brunch on the Beach on Sunday, June 2 through Sunday, July 28. ArtServe’s Brunch on the Beach, a unique partnership with local Fort Lauderdale beachfront restaurants to integrate art into their venues this summer. Every Sunday through July, participating restaurants will offer food and drink specials paired with unique art works and art happenings from ArtServe member artists. The restaurants that will feature art and food and beverage specials are Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Café Del Mar, East End Brasserie, Rock Bar, S3, Sangrias, Spazio and St. Barts.

FacesEXPOSED logoAnd lastly, June 3 kicks off the FacesEXPOSED exhibit, which runs from June 3-28. FacesEXPOSED is photography of faces found in life and inanimate objects. A variety of serious, humorous, fantastical and ethereal. FacesEXPOSED reveals what is seen in the eye of the beholder.
